All the Bintan Resorts' hotels are fronting the South China Sea, and offer pristine white beaches with extensive watersports facilities - from windsurfing, boogie-boarding, sailing, snorkelling, kayaking or canoeing to scuba-diving, jetskiing, wakeboarding, boating or fishing trips. Note however that different hotels offer different watersports programmes, thus it is best to check with the individual hotels first before committing to any holiday plans.
Watersports enthusiasts should take note of two seasons in Bintan: from about November to March, the north easterly winds bring in the waves and swells from the South China Sea. It is the best time for wind sports - the superb weather draws savvy surfers, boogie boarders and long board beginners. |

may be more familiar with the term “Kite Boarding” or "Kite Surfing" instead. “Air Blast” was introduced in
Bintan in 2005, and it is getting popular with many water sports enthusiasts. |

So, what exactly is kiteboarding? Using only the power of Mother Nature (all one needs is wind), launch 30-foot jumps, pull your favourite wakeboard moves, carve tracks through wind power or just ride some waves to the sunset - that's what it is.
What else could one ask for? Come to Bintan Resorts and try out kiteboarding today. The best time to enjoy kiteboarding is during the North East Monsoon (from November to March) when the wind is strong. |
